THE RITZ continues to be a favorite venue in OC. So, let’s gather in the bar until it’s time to be seated for dinner (which includes a glass of wine). For the first course choose the Scampi Provencale or the Ritz salad with Bay shrimp and Belgian endive. Then, for your entree, select the filet mignon which is skillet-seared and deglazed with Cognac, Dijon mustard and a touch of cream; veal “Piccata;” broiled Pacific swordfish; or the 8 oz. sirloin and bacon-wrapped prawns stuffed with Parmesan, cheddar and crab, all served with a sherry cream sauce. For the sweet conclusion, there’s a cup of coffee and a trio of signature desserts. But the evening need not end.
There’s entertainment in the Ritz bar; and, if you’ve never enjoyed Jimmy Hopper’s show, walk down the street to the Island Hotel where Jimmy entertains on Friday evenings. Or go there even if you have seen the show before! |
